Okay, so those of you who have followed my previous blogs know that I always start with an introduction on myself, you also know that you don't really have to read this anymore.
There were some problems with my last blog, (it wouldn't let me switch it over to this email.... I then lost interest and had to stop going) and I really missed it. So I created a new Dashboard under this email address and have decided therefore to start a new blog. ( 2 new blogs) and one of new years years resolutions (the full list will be available tomorrow) is to keep this up with AT LEAST one post a week. First however I would like to do my introduction, so here we go.
My name for all intents and purposes is Cat, I'm 16, I enjoy music, gaming, reading, writing, more music and more writing.... I recently found out some frightening statistics of just how much I write. I am currently in a love hate relationship with movies as well ( I love a lot of movies but have recently seen so many terrible ones that my faith is a little shaken.) One of my favorite hobbies of all time is blogging, because it combines writing with the internet which is amazing. Also, before you hear it from later down in the blog, I completely obsessed with Tom DeLonge.
Okay... to be a little bit more specific about all of the things I listed above.
My name: Cat, short for my Screen name which is Cat Like Thief. I got my screen name from my favorite song (okay... I have a lot of favorite songs, I got it from my favorite line of a song.) The song is called Cat Like Thief obviously and it's done by Box Car Racer, (one of the best bands of all time). Track 5. The line is: Call me back when word is that she's gone, Cat Like Thief she stole air from my lungs. I also go by a few other names.... okay, a lot of other names. Some of my favorites, Tibby, Alice, Shawn, Xentruffy.... really there are a lot.
Music: My favorite musical genre is Crappy Punk Rock and Alternative, which I swear is a real thing. My top 5 bands are as follows: Blink 182, Box Car Racer, Angels and Airwaves, The Descendents and Say Anything.For those of you who are confused about who Tom is, he was the founding member of those top three bands. Some other groups I listen to (and let me assure you this is skimming the surface only): NOFX, Bad Religion, Blue October, She Wants Revenge, Dresden Dolls, Weezer, Greenday (laugh all you want, Warning was a revolutionary album) System of a Down, The Used, The Offspring, Metric, Third Eye blind, 30 Seconds to Mars, Coheed and Cambria..... I'm gonna stop there. Point is, I like a lot of music. I also play lead guitar in a band, we suck, but we're getting better. We are still looking for a drumset, we have a drummer but no drumset. We are called Exit Strategy and out first album is only missing a drumline, we hope to be recording it in the near future, it will be titled Get A Life, so look for that.
Gaming: I like FPS games primarily, but I play whatever I have available to me, which is very seldom FPS. I'm not a big fan of digitalized RPGs, I believe RPGs should be played in person with real dice. I'm currently in a few D&D campaigns right now and trying to start a Vampire the Masquerade campaign. I'm very into Minecraft although I suck at it, it's still amazing. I also am a fan of zOMG on gaia, not because the game is that great (it isn't) but because I like gaia. I like the items and zOMG is the quickest way to get gold, I'm a huge fan of gold. Some of my favorite games include American McGee's Alice, Quake 3 Arena, Quake, Diablo 2, Tomb Raider 3 Gold, and probably Oblivion.
Reading: I am a huge fan of the horror genre, I like Stephen King and Dean Koontz along with some others, although my favorite book of all time is To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee. So beautiful. If you ask me at any given time what I'm reading I will be in the middle of about a dozen things because I never have enough time to read. I've recently made a deal with my mom that she will read To Kill A Mockingbird if I read The Mists of Avalon. She's getting the better end of the deal but, it's worth it because everyone should read that book before they die. Right now I'm reading, The Mists of Avalon, Nightmares and Dreamscapes, Under the Dome and the Hellsing series.
Writing: I prefer writing horror related things but I have done a lot more romantic mystery type things. I have written most of a book series (though I never really want to be published, this is a hobby, not a career) some short stories (define short...) and A LOT of fanfiction. Usually I would post a link to some of my writing but I have taken it all off the internet (blogs excluded of course) because I have had a few online stalkers and that's weird. So.... I stopped that. Writing is one of my favorite things though, I journal, blog, I do fanfiction, original material, write books about my friends, I pretty much do it all, and I have time. It's one of those magical things I never have enough time to do anything I want or need to get done unless it involves writing and then my whole schedule magically becomes free. I don't know how it works, it just does. So if you ever have an idea for a story, (preferably something sad or scary) and need some one to flesh it out for you, send me an Email.
Movies: I really like reviewing movies. I'm too self-conscious to have any sort of video blog but I really do enjoy reviewing movies. I'm actually going to start a separate blog ( don't worry, it'll be on this Dashboard) just for movie reviews. I did a bunch of zombie related ones last year, I don't want to even talk about it it was that bad. My favorite movies though, (let's do top 5 again) Sweeney Todd, Repo! The Gentic Opera, Scott Pilgrim vs the World, Numb and Zombieland.
So this is a little bit about me. A lot of you probably already know more, and those of you who don't you'll find out. So stay tuned.
